Improvements to FeF dorms continue

Day 23

After returning from their Wisconsin road trip Sunday evening, OSE interns got straight back to work on Monday.

Their morning started off with a discussion about how the workshop went and what could be improved for future workshops.

One of the main changes they brought up was reorganizing workshop. The group agreed that it would be better if the instructions had people complete all the welding before moving onto other steps. They also talked about delegating tasks differently.

Before lunch they planned out the afternoon and talked about the upcoming week.

Curtis Calkins, who came to Factor e Farm last spring for the second Micro House build, arrived during lunch on Monday. Curtis will be leading the third Micro House build July 24-27.

Farm beautification

The afternoon consisted mainly of fixing up buildings around the farm.

Moriah Baltz, Gabriel Elkind, Clair Sprenger, Graham Coffman and Emily Dixon cleared trash and storage out of one of the Solar Cabins into two pick-up trucks. Founding Director Marcin Jakubowski then worked with Gabriel, Clair and Graham to sort through and organize their findings.

Juan Bennazar, Curtis, Moriah, Gabriel, Graham and Emily ripped up and replaced the old floors of the Solar Cabin.

Brenna Fitzpatrick, Guillaume Coudray, Sam Turner, Stephen Whiting, installed more soffit on the east side of the Hab Lab with some help from the people who worked on the Solar Cabin.

Anthony Douglas finished figuring out what to adjust the gas valves on the CNC Torch Table. After dinner, he also taught Gabriel and Clair the first few steps for setting it up. The three of them also drafted the first few steps for instructions on how to use Torch Table.
