OSE Europe Launch and Jeremy Blum – OS Electronics London Interview

Hi all. It’s been a while since my last post but I’m proud to be able to make a return with great news. There are now plans for an “Open Source Ecology Europe” project (also visit the OSEE facebook page) and to kick start the idea I have combined it with a very informative interview with Jeremy Blum whom I met up with here in London UK.

I have been talking with Nikolay Georgiev and the next step will be to organise a skype conference with all interested people to start formally organising Open Source Ecology Europe. If you are interested in taking part please add yourself to the Open Source Ecology Europe wiki page and we will be in touch with a date for the conference. Alternatively you can also email me at willcleaver@gmail.com

Open source hardware licenses should protect public designs from being patented/restricted by someone with clever lawyers.

I think your practice of publishing things “far and wide” is a great way to open source something – maybe the best way.

    Go Europe go! đŸ˜‰

Btw., there are people like me that have decided not to use Facebook, so please remember us and don’t let things “happen” *only* through a Facebook page.

Is the choose of Portugal/Spain only because of the price of the land?

If yes, I’m thinking that you may be able to join an eco-village without buying land at all:

But anyway, I still think Portugal/Spain or other southern countries would be good, mainly because of the weather (a climate that is not very cold is easier to manage by a permaculture style of life, because you don’t have to worry so much about heating).

    What do you think?

I have 5 acres of land in Spain that I would give to this project! (well, I’m in the process of registering a UK Cooperative Society and currently intend to give the land to that once it exists)

See http://buildingman.org for some basic info/ pics/ videos and plans.

Also check my youtube/jdaviescoates and flickr/uniteddiversity for more vids and pics!
