OSE Revamping in Critical 2013

This year is critical for OSE as we grow and stabilize as an organization. We are currently reorganizing in order to deliver on the promises of OSE’s Plan for 2013 as outlined in this 5 minute video:

OSE Project Outline 2012-2013. from Open Source Ecology on Vimeo.

Our goal for this year is to develop an infrastructure that would allow us to increase our prototyping rate to 6 prototypes of Global Village Construction Set (GVCS) machines designed and built per month, with full documentation and high quality control standards. We aim to attain this target of 6 prototypes/month by the end of first quarter of 2014. The objective is to prepare for a rapid pace of development in 2014-2015 and complete the entire set of the 50 GVCS machines up to beta release by year-end 2015.

Adrian Hong has agreed to join us as an advisor and team mentor to help us: establish the necessary structure, hire an executive team and attain audit compliance. We are exploring evolving to a hybrid organization which will channel production earnings to support further research and development. Adrian’s role is to help evaluate the present state of OSE, make recommendations, and assist in their execution. This includes hiring of 4 executive-track positions, policy and procedure development.

More information on OSE’s 2013 priorities is forthcoming in our next post, so keep watching this space.
