Final Assembly

(note motors should be at back, not front, in video 1)

Axis Motor Side

Instructions

1. To start the axis motor side, take 2 of the axis motor side 3D printed pieces. These are the 3D Printed pieces with the hole in the middle.
2. Insert 2 m6 nuts into the nut catcher on one of the sandwich pieces. For the Y and Z axis, you don’t need to use the nuts.
3. Sandwich the other half together symmetrically such that all the bolt holes line up, and the belt opening is on the right side.
4. Use the m6, 18mm long socket head screw to screw the sandwich together.
5. Insert 4 of these screws through the underside, and screw the nuts in on the top side.
6. Use a 5 mm Allen wrench to tighten the screws, but only loosely as the rods will be inserted later.
7. Take the Nema 17 Stepper Motor, and attach the GT2 pulley onto it. Bottom the thick part of the pulley against the stepper motor body. Tighten down the 2 set screws. Spin the shaft to make sure the stepper motor spins freely.
8. Face the belt opening of the motor side sandwich to the right, with the socket screw heads on the bottom side. Put the nuts on the top side, and tighten the nuts, but only loosely.
9. Place the motor on top of the Motor Side sandwich, with the motor plug facing to the bottom right.
10. Use 4 of the m3x25 mm philips head screws to attach the stepper motor in a diamond pattern through the small bolt holes on the bottom. Do not tighten down fully as rods will be inserted later.
11. Do the entire procedure above 3 more times for the Y1, Y2, and Z axis, but now without using the nuts in the nut catcher

Carriage Axis

Instructions

1. To start the axis carriage side, take 2 of the carriage side 3D printed pieces - the ones that hold the linear bearings.
2. Insert 4 of the linear bearings into the slots on one piece.
3. Sandwich the other half together symmetrically. Make sure that the belt holes line up - the smooth against smooth, and ribbed against ribbed.
4. Use the 6x 25mm long socket head screw to screw the sandwich together.
5. Put 5 of these screws in on one side, and put the 6 mm nuts on the other side.
6. Tighten the screws.

Idler Side

Instructions

1. To start the axis idler side, take 1 of the short idler side 3D printed pieces - the ones that hold the idler.
2. Insert 2 M6 nuts into the nut catchers.
3. Put 3 of the M6x25 Bolts in.
4. Put the 2 flanged idler bearings through the middle bolt, with the flanges facing out.
5. Sandwich the other plastic half together symmetrically.
6. Put m6 nuts on the screws.
7. Tighten the screws, but not fully as the rods will be inserted later.

X Axis Assembly

Instructions

1. Begin with the carriage assembly. Stick 2 of the 13-¼” rods inside the carriage assembly into the idler bearings. Spin the rods into place very gently, or you will knock out the bearing balls.
2. With the Rods in place, place the assembly in front of you horizontally so that the ribbed hole of the carriage is away from you and the smooth hole is closer to you.
3. Take the idler piece with the belt opening facing left, and insert over the right end of the rods until the rods reach the end of the printed piece.
4. Tighten the bolts on the rods.
5. Sandwich the other plastic half together symmetrically.
6. Take the motor assembly with the motor facing towards you and the belt opening to the right. Insert over the left end of the rods, until the rods reach the left edge of the motor assembly. Tighten down the socket heads, but only to hold the rods in place, as the length of the X axis assembly will be adjusted later. 0
7. Take a 25” length of belt - and insert around the motor pulley with the teeth toward the pulley.

Y Axis Assembly

Instructions

1. Begin with the carriage assembly. Stick 2 of the 15.5” rods inside the carriage assembly into the idler bearings. Spin the rods into place very gently, or you will knock out the bearing balls.
2. With the Rods in place, place the assembly in front of you horizontally so that the ribbed hole of the carriage is away from you and the smooth hole is closer to you.
3. Take the idler piece with the belt opening facing left, and insert over the right end of the rods until the rods reach the end of the printed piece.
4. Tighten the bolts on the rods.
5. Take the motor assembly with the motor facing towards you and the belt opening to the right. Insert rods all the way into the motor assembly. Tighten down the socket heads.
6. That completes Y1. Repeat this exactly to build the Z axis.
7. Take a 25” length of belt - and insert around the motor pulley with the teeth toward the pulley.
8. Once finished, wind a 29” belt through each axis, just like for the x axis.

Heated Bed Assembly

Instructions

1.To build the heated, take 1 of the short idler side 3D printed pieces.
2. Insert 2 m6 nuts into the nut catcher.
3. Sandwich the other plastic half together symmetrically.
4. Put 3 M6x18 Bolts in, and start tightening the nuts.
5. Put 2 of the 7” long 5/16”rods into the idler as you finish tightening, with the rods sticking out on the idler side.
6. Take two wires for the aluminum heated bed - strip their ends - and solder them to the bed. Solder the positive on the single pad and solder the negative to the two negative pads.
7. Take an 8”x8” piece of PEI, and glue it to the surface of the bed that doesn’t have the wiring.
8. Flip the bed and put the head of the thermistor into the center hole of the heated bed on the wire side.
9. Bend the thermistor wires towards the heatbed wires. Bend them so they are flat against the heated bed. Tape the thermistor wires to the bed with Kapton tape.
10. Place the heated bed on top of the rods, with the PEI surface facing up and the wires away from the printed piece.
11. Use superglue to attach the heatbed to the rods.

Frame Assembly

Instructions

1. Take 12 pieces of angle, each 6 inches ” long, and the 6 frame pieces, and 48 magnets. You will use JB Weld epoxy for fast set.
2. Make 12 magnetic holders by attaching 4 magnets on the outside of the angle
3. Place a frame piece flat on the table in front of you. This is the Bottom.
4. Attach 4 angles on the outside edge of this frame member, with the magnets facing out
5. Take the remaining frame members and attach one magnetic holder to the outside edge with magnets facing out
6.Take a second frame piece - for the First Side.
7. Stand the First Side vertically, with the First Side magnetic holder on a vertical side facing inside.
8. Attach "First Side magnetic Table" another frame piece to make the Second Side - attaching magnetically to both the bottom and the First Side magnetic holders.
9. Attach magnetically to the Bottom.
10. Orient the Second side so the third can be attached with 2 magnetic holders, and so on.
11. Continue until the 4 sides are attached.
12. Attach the magnetic holders to the tops of the 4 sides
13. Put on the top.
14. Line up all the sides so that the edges are tight against one another.
15. Use gloves. Mix JB Weld or use self-mixing 2-part fast epoxy.
16. Epoxy the 4 inside edges of the Bottom, except for the location of the magnetic holders.
17. Epoxy the vertical edges together on the outside.
18. Epoxy the top 4 corners on the outside.
19. Once epoxy cures, spray paint the frame black.

Extruder Assembly

Instructions

1. Insert the two M3 * 4 nuts in their positions and screw them.
2. Make sure to screw the spring screw not tightly
3. Mind the correct orientation of motor cables (given by the arrow).
4. Assemble the stainless steel spring and the M5*8 screw
5. Prepare the MK8 part,the M3*16 screw and the M4*18 screw assembled as seen.
6. Do not screw the M4*18 screw tightly
7. Add to it, the M4*8 screw,the M4 gasket,and the Bilateral groove bearing.
8.Install these assembled parts on the assembling extruder
9. Please install feed filament wheel.
10. Under pressure with your finger release bearing, insert feeding wheel, adjust the position and release your finger.
11. Please tighten support screw. Here, the others mounted parts are not visible, just for us to show you where is the support screw.
12. Prepare the sensor holder with the sensor and screw it.
13. Take the bottom mounting nut off the sensor and insert the sensor into the holder ring.
14. Screw the nut back on the sensor to fix the sensor in place, not tight as this will be adjusted later.
15. Take the heat sink, the height sensor module assembled, the cooling fan, the fan grill and the M3x40 screws. Assemble them as shown.
16. Prepare the nozzle, by tightening the nozzle and metal feed pipe, avoid leakage material.
17.Assemble the nozzle set and the M6 screw nut to the rest of extruder.
