• There is a growing roster of merit-based professional fellowship opportunities that provide entry into a first job or career change, fund international work experiences, cultivate emerging leaders and changemakers, and support self-designed projects and social enterprises. Professional fellowships are funded by a wide range of organizations including foundations, non-profit organizations, government agencies, universities, media, and corporations.

OSE Case

For OSE, the OSE Fellowship is a merit-based, paid opportunity to do something exceptional. The OSE Fellowship is an entry level, full-time engagement with OSE. Fellowship status is granted after completion of immersion training programs. OSE Fellows may be selected to the Senior OSE Fellow position after 2 years with OSE. After a successful track record as Senior OSE Fellows, candidates may pursue the track of Open Source Ecologists - or movement entrepreneurs who build model campuses based on open source economics.

The goal of the OSE Fellows program is to cultivate emerging leaders and changemakers in the field of open source economic development - towards the creation of the open source economy. Fellows are selected based on their commitment to the open source ethic.

Growth is a constant drive at OSE. Our Fellowships will give you the environment, continued training, and networks that immerse you in open source culture. It is as important that our Fellows grow as people, by constant engagement in what it means to be an Integrated Human. At the same time, we will continue learning the hard skills of efficient production - which is also ecological and integrated with natural life support systems.

The title of “Fellow” alone indicates a position of prestige. If selected, you are one of the few deemed to carry on the spirit of open source culture, which we feel is indispensable for human advancement - as we transition to Homo Sapiens Apertus. Fellows are selected to be part of our open source tribe - a group of individuals committed to happiness, openness, and freedom. You will be exposed to the Distributive Enterprise ethic - which to us is the inevitable evolution of the modern economy.

We will expose you to our networks in the open source community, and hold a schedule of continuing training. You will have a chance to interact with established leaders of the open source world. There will be the Summers of Extreme Design/Build - which include professional education and more. We will seek out entrepreneurship mentors for every Fellow, from their local community.
