Guidelines for Use of the OSE Name

From Open Source Ecology

Open Source Ecology is becoming known for a unique approach towards creating an open source economy. As we move forward, we would like to create official OSE Local Groups to carry on the OSE core mission, based on guidelines similar to the Open Knowledge Foundation's Local Groups. Currently, there is a number of allied efforts, known as OSE Chapters - in Europe, though no formal agreement has been signed as to the nature of this relationship to OSE. To accelerate the development of Open Source Ecology, we would like to invite existing allied efforts, and new ones in the making - to adopt a set of shared operating principles that support OSE's core mission.

OSE's core work today revolves around developing a methodology for Extreme Design and Extreme manufacturing - applied to the creation of sustainable+ (regenerative) infrastructures in society. Currently, we are working on the GVCS - as a test bed for our unique rapid development methodology. We intend to apply this methodology towards creating a generalized platform for open product development - as an accelerator of innovation. Our focused goal is to create the open source economy - an economy based on open collaboration rather than protectionism. We see this as a deep solution to pressing world issues.

We would like to see the OSE name identified clearly with this core work.
