  • Resume/CV - I have been a drafter since 1988 in the oil field. I also build things in my garage with my plasma cutter and welders.

WHY are you motivated to support/develop this work?

  • Do you endorse open source culture?

As a libertarian I feel like the govt. has done nothing but put up road blocks when it comes to ingenuity and progress. (this is a whole topic by itself) As someone with not a lot of money I want to be able to pool resources and collaborate to maximize potential for OSE. I want to be left alone on my property with my liberty building things that will benefit my family and those around me. I totally endorse open source as long as at the end one person doesn't patent a bunch of stuff and the project is left to flounder. I have seen that before.

  • Why are you interested in collaborating with us?

Many heads around an idea is better than one head. If I am going to build some of your plans (CEB, Cube, etc...) Then I need to give back to the cause. I don't like "takers". They are a bore and they wear me out...I will hopefully give more than I receive.

  • How do you think that the GVCS can address pressing world issues?

I have friends all over the world...I grew up in asia. My parents were missionaries. I have friends still over in asia, papua new guinea, china....and OSE could work anywhere.

  • What should happen so that you become more involved with the project?

Time is a major issue with me....I will give what I can but I am very busy on the weekends with my property.

  • What are you missing in the project?

I do not understand the question. I just joined yesterday.

  • What are your suggestions for improvement of the project?

The drawings are a mess from what I have seen. This always happens in R&D. I would suggest that once each unit is "finished" that a full set of professional drawings are made for that unit. There are a few places on the web that use an open source concept for tools...I will try and find a set of drawings to show you what I am talking about.

WHAT

  • List all of your skills in these areas: Communications - Organizational - Computer Support - Finances - Design - Natural Building - Electronics - Automation - Metallurgy - Engineering - Fabrication - Agriculture - Energy - Architecture - Video/Graphics/Art - PR/Marketing - Education - Construction - Industry - CNC - Chemistry - Product Design - Other

organizational - I am terrible
Design - This is what I do for a living
Fabrication - I have experience
construction - I owned a construction co. years ago.
CNC - I understand the concept

  • How have you already contributed to the project?

I have not

HOW can you help?

  • How are you interested in contributing to the work of GVCS development?

I can make your drawings look professional so that a layman can build a "final" unit.

  • Can you volunteer to work with us, and if so, how many hours per week?

I can commit to a few hours a week

  • Are you interested in working with us for pay? If so, what services can you offer, and what is your hourly or per-project rate?

Not interested in working for pay.

Time permitting

  • Are you interested in purchasing equipment from us to help bootstrap development?

Possibly

  • Are you interested in bidding for consulting/design/prototyping work?

No

I didn't know about it until this question.

  • Would you like to see yourself working with us on a full-time basis?

No...I have too much to do on my own property (village) in Texas

  • Are you interested in using the technologies that we are developing directly?

Yes

  • Are you interested in being part of the world's first, open source, resilient community? The GVCS is the preparatory step for the OSE Village Experiment - a 2 year, immersion experiment (2013-2014) for testing whether a real, thriving, modern-day prototype community of 200 people can be built on 200 acres using local resources and open access to information? We are looking for approximately 200 people to fill a diverse array of roles, according to the Social Contract that is being developed. This may be the boldest social experiment on earth - a pioneering community whose goal is to extend the index of possibilities regarding harmonious existence of humans, ecology, and technology - as a beacon of light to benefit of all people on Earth.

No...I would do this. But I would support it however I could.
