- Visited an industry standard Dimensional Sawmill with Brian Sweiger - we are having Sweiger Shop fabricate Prototype 1.
- Discussed Kickstarter with Isaiah and Found Alexander Lieders and Antoine Malouin to work with Isaiah on graphics
August 20, 2011
- Raised the 24x24' workshop covered space to near top with Brianna from 10PM to 5AM- for putting CEB production run in there
- Felled large walnut to clear workshop space
August 21
- 10 to 4 tieing down new covered space.
- Started Overall_Budget and published Kauffman Proposal

- 9-5 on the workshop roof - Mill Shed is officially complete, ready to populate with CEB presses, then sawmill
- Found that construction funding should be in within 48 hours

- Had design meeting on Dimensional Sawmill with Doug of Sweiger Shop
- Determined 'followthrough' and 'substance creation' as some of the core values for the FeF

- Troubleshooted and shot documentation on B&S Magnetos - to put in replacements
- Contacted Jose Bravo on joining the Factor e Team
- Updated CNC_Torch_Table#OSE_Project_Status.2FSchedule
- Updated CAD-CAM Problem Statement with discussion from Kevin Atkinson
- Wrote first cut of Senior TED Fellow application for 2012 - sorry, private at this point

- Defined Instructionals To Do List and requested a comparable list from William Neal
- Spent an hour in Team Development coaching from SupporTED
- Spent an hour with Jershonda Baker defining Multimachine Deployment Strategy
- Spent 4 hours on controller code testing; issue with sensors not picking up signal

- Submitted Senior TED Fellows application for review
- Tested automated motion of secondary cylinder on CEB press.
- Set up Shonda to bend tracks for tractor; streamlined to 3 per minute:

- Tested secondary cylinder - see procedure. Result:
- Got up at the crack of dawn to write Factor e Farm Participation Standards after beginning group discussions on self-assessment and priorities toward a shared promise

- Moved CEB presses to new workshop area and installed arms on one
- Published first draft of GVCS Rollout Plan - general budget for GVCS deployment from now to completion.
August 29
- Published main cylinder wiring and testing procedure -CEB_Press/Manufacturing_Instructions/Control_Source_Code_v1.0_Explained#Main_Cylinder
- Identified Enniss Inc as subject mater experts with design experience of ironworker machines and well drilling rigs
- Assisted on press foot fitting, setup of new welder; track chain size is incorrect and doesn't fit track welding jig - need to replace chain.
- Shook down $60k donation - arriving this Thursday, and Kauffman Foundation will decide their grant on Sept. 13. Discussed this with Logan of TED Fellows program.
August 30
- Published sawmill industry standard study video:

- Published Proposal Template
- Cut materials for 4 hydraulic reservoirs and 4 fuel tanks for Power Cubes
- Picked up car from transmission repair; transmission went out again after 30 minutes
- Published Hydraulic Tank Bung Cleaning Ergonomic Analysis: it takes 2.5 minutes to clean a bung.

- Late wake from work last night, started day with meeting
- Struggled with pinholes on fuel tank welding. Got 2 tanks done of 10.

- Had Matt Droter prepare all hydrauilic fittings for Power Cubes
- Worked on tank pinhole corrections, then Thad Getterman came to contribute his 3/4 Ton F-250 and a large trailer; day over
- William submitted his leak testing video from last year

- Labor Day Monday. Assessment of last week:
- Didn't get much done on power cubes. Good start on welding, then the balance of system was tricky
- Major pinhole issues
- Motor mounts were not threaded
- Friday and Saturday basically vaporized
- Promises for today:
- Finish tanks in 3 hours
- Assemble 5 power cubes after tanks are complete; parts should be ready
- Week goals:
- 5 Power Cubes done
- CEB presses done, outside of 5th one
- CEB electronics redone and completed on 4 machines with shipment of solenoid drivers from Blair
- Making sure CEB CAD is published for full CAD markup in pro package

- Took soil pulverizer to Sweiger to build 2 more. Ordered one 5' toothbar bucket for LifeTrac. Discussed conversion of LifeTrac mount to Bobcat implements. Sweiger will mount sickle bar on LifeTrac quick attach plate.
- Continued on Power Cube finishing - documented engine mount locations, choke and throttle mounts

- Sourced blades for Dimensional Sawmill from Mobile Dimenstion Sawmill Company.
