Hi Marcin,

Just wanted to forward this message on to you, in your webinar with ESW on Wednesday you suggested we contact you if we are interested in collaborating.

First: I am working to revive the ESW chapter here at UC Berkeley, hoping to collaborate on projects with OSE.

Second: I am interested in working with OSE for my public policy project (see below). From your comments in the webinar, an initial thought for a topic would be to develop a strategy to reach the 'adoption threshold' of OSE designs, at which point design information would be diffuse enough that potential competitors would be unsuccessful at attacking OSE through legal channels. Maybe also scanning the legal/IP horizon for some of the key machines of the GVCS, to see what you might be facing in the future. Another topic idea could focus on your suggestion that people are fully responsible for these machines because they are building them for themselves...I have not looked into this yet but it still might be a big question for open source design in general?

Either way, because all of your information is freely available already, collaborating would require little effort on your part; most likely just providing me with a contact point in OSE to bounce questions off of once and a while. Let me know if there are other strategy/policy issues worth considering.

Best, Nick
