Basics

OSE White Papers are technology assessment papers produced for the public domain. These describe OSE-related technologies and provide rapid learning materials for getting up to speed on a given technology, assuming a high school math and physics level of understanding.

These include:

  1. A brief summary of the state of art of a given technology
  2. Basic calculations of cost, performance, and economics of production
  3. Action-oriented description of known designs and build processes, with focus on cost, performance, and distributed manufacturability. This description is a summary of known best practices - as a reference point for open sourcing a technology on a village scale
  4. Discussion of current limits or blocks to the open source distributed feasibility of the technology
  5. Criteria that are needed to be met for the technology to enter the open source economic domain of distributed production and Distributive Enterprise
  6. Steps required for developing the technology
  7. Proposed roadmap of milestones
