Open Source Recipricating Pneumatic Motor

From Open Source Ecology
Jump to: navigation, search

Basics

- An engine that uses compressed air (or a pure gas) and a series of pistons to produce rotary motion

- Works more like an Recipricating Interal Combustion Engine, as opposed to the more turbine like Open Source Pneumatic Motor

Used For

- Pnuematic Vehicles and tools

Industry Standards

-

Existing Open Source Designs

-

Minimum Viable Product

- Cheap to Produce

- All DIY componets (as it is just cylenders, valves and tubing)

- Modular

- Scaleable

Basic Design

Casing

- Allows Pistons to be mounted in an organized way and keeps everything neat + gives it structure

Pistons

- Diy Pneumatic Pistons

Pneumatic In Manifold

- Takes the pneumatic in flow(s), and switches it between the pistons

Hydraulic Out Manifold

- Takes the pneumatic out flow(s), and switches it between the pistons

Controller

- A arduino with a custom solenoid controller sheild (Via OCI)

- Should also allow for IO
