Basics

  • During the First Outbreak (Which as of this being current is still happening) there has been a shortage in people, and supplies for response to COVID-19
  • This is largely due to countries being un prepared both in supplies, but also in Pandemic Control Measures
  • This page goes over the hard data of these shortages in order tom facilitate the organisation of OSE and other groups' efforts to alleviate this shortage

Personal Protective Equipment

Source - [1]

  • 3.5 billion N95 masks may be needed over 1 year
  • 3M produces 35 million per month, or 420M per year - about 1/10 the need
  • There is a dire short supply of N95 masks
  • But do N95 masks protect against COVID? - see graphic on particle size and N95 - [2].
  • N95 seem to protect against the virus - but they are not recommended for the public because wearing them all day is not possible because it is hard to breathe through them. [3]
