AD COPY Open Source Ecology is looking for an Intern Recruitment Manager. Founded by TED speaker Dr. Marcin Jakubowski, Open Source Ecology is designing and developing the 50 different Industrial Machines that it takes to build a small, sustainable civilization with modern comforts. The successful Intern Recruitment Manager will be an organized, proactive, persistent individual who works with college and university departments and clubs to establish a consistent pipeline of volunteer interns to work at the Open Source Ecology's "Factor e Farm" site in Maysville, Missouri. The Intern Recruitment Manager is a key position that works closely with Dr. Jakubowski to help achieve Open Source Ecology's audacious and inspiring mission.


JOB DESCRIPTION: Intern Recruitment Manager

Target: Reach out to 120 schools and secure speeches at 12

1. Work from the existing list of schools

2. Identify key contacts at each school in relevant departments / programs / clubs (Mechnical Engineering; Engineers Without Borders, etc.)

3. Reach out to key contacts to arrange visits

- Send Marcin's TED talk
- Send material explaining the program / opportunity
- Find dates; cluster geographically by dates
- Negotiate fees (?)
- Support local advertisement (provide collateral for local advertising)

4. Travel planning and logistics

- Plane tickets
- Maps for driving
- Hotel reservations
- Manage expenses
- Aggregate itineraries
- Ship materials to locations (leave behinds)

5. Manage recruitment process

- Create / managing application process
- Create leave behind materials (postcards with link / QR code)
- Answers questions from applicants
- Preliminary screening of applications

6. Orientation / Checking interns in and out

- Create a volunteer pack
- Greet new volunteers and explain pack
- Support volunteer transitions into the Farm community

7. Alumni relations

- Working with alumni to identify new Interns
- Keeping alumni up-to-date on progress / new opportunities to return to the Farm
- Capturing intern stories (video, writing, photos) and publishing these online direct to alumni
