Basics
- A dedicated componet for graphics calculations
- Contains the GPU and other componets
- Typically used as a display output, but can also be used for other processing such as Machine Learning , and cad/animation/image/video rendering, and scientific simulations
- Not needed in low requirement computers like Ultrabooks and rasberry pi's etc
- Useful for workstations and other similar high power computers
- Some configurations can allow for use of moe than one for more processing power
- The alternative is Integrated Graphics
