Introduction

If you have IT-related skills and you want to share your knowledge with the world and help OSE, consider becoming part of this team!

How to Join

You can start by posting a short text about yourself and your skills on the Introductions category of the discussion forum.

Then, please read the Team Culturing page and fill out the survey, as described there. Don't forget to add [[Category: IT team]] to your survey page so that you get listed.

If you consistently make valuable contributions, you'll probably be invited to join the IT team.

But how can you contribute right away?

IT Tasks

We have a forum category for discussing IT-related issues and we also use Trello to keep track of current tasks.

IT tasks can start as discussions on that forum category and then they can be turned into stories that will be tracked on the Trello OSE account.

Use the forum
If you have any tip that can help with a given task you found on Trello, please post them on our forum. This forum category is open to anyone, so you can start your contributions right away.

Some of the Trello boards are:

Software development contributions

Software being developed for OSE can be found at https://github.com/organizations/OSE

If you can fix bugs or improve our software, just fork the source code you're interested in, make your changes, and send us a pull request on GitHub. (What is a pull request?)

Conclusions

You can start contributing right away by helping us with the discussions on our IT forum category and with the tasks listed at Pivotal Tracker.

And if you consistently make valuable contributions, you'll probably be invited to join the IT team, and will be able to work directly on the tasks listed at Pivotal Tracker.
