General Rules of Open Source Organizations
- Publish or perish.
- Publish early and often.
- Either execute or document. Execution (doing something yourself) gets us product immediately, but documentation (documenting how to do something so that someone else can do it) allows more effective scaling, while freeing the person from actually doing the work.
- Log your work. This promotes: open collaboration, proper attribution, planning and review, and organizational learning.
