An increased focus on WIIFM (what's in it for me) to make the offer more attractive. The copy at the landing page currently explains the type of skills you will learn and what you will be able to build.

The copy would be even more powerful if the copy extrapolates on that and explains how you can use these skills and this knowledge when you come back home to real life.

How can you apply the skills you will learn in your normal life? What are the benefits of having these skills? How will attending this even impact their lives in 6 months, 1 year, 3 years down the line? Painting a picture of their life BEFORE and AFTER this summer camp, focusing on the benefits it will give them, will go a long way to increase the effectiveness of the copy.

NOTE: Some WIIFM-benefits are alluded to at the bottom on of the page -

  • "People considering a career change towards a meaningful area of endeavor
  • College students looking for applied, hands-on skills and learning to balance their curriculum
  • Teachers who want to expand to the Open Source Microfactory in their curriculum
  • Competitive students looking to pad their college applications while simultaneously exploring a mind-opening experience"

If one or more of these are important target audiences, these benefits need to be expanded on and explained in detail, so that the reader can connect the dots and see the inherent benefits of the program.
