Kat is a community organiser and researcher who explores the intersections between hardware, technology and social change within communities.

At the Open Knowledge Foundation, she is a London-based Community Coordinator and was the organiser of the world's first Open Knowledge Festival 2012 in Helsinki (http://okfestival.org). She is also facilitator of the Open Knowledge Foundation's global chapters and regional groups (http://okfn.org/chapters).

Kat is co-founder of the new Open Design Working Group (http://design.okfn.org), and has a MSc Digital Anthropology from University College London for her 2011 research on the role of gender embodiment amongst F/LOSS hackers in Europe (http://shehackers.kaibray.com).
