These are extensible to exterior walls and due to Product Service System design, we can extend the requirement to include both cases.

Requirement

  • Main challenge resolved - integration into spaces where the modules do not have an exact fit. Solution requirement:
  • Make it fit initially to the most lax tolerance
  • Utilize a wrapper - an interface piece that can be adjusted in size readily. Follows Extreme Manufacturing principles.
  • Need a wrapper for sides, flat ceiling, inclined ceiling, and adjacent modules
  • Test-driven Contract-First Requirement
  • flat surface for meeting with other wall or brick sections
  • flat surface for stacking for thickness. Base width is that of a 2x6. Therefore doubled up, it is 2x12 exuivalent.
  • Usable as exterior walls - upon doubling and extending with plywood.
  • Usable with any size window of 42"x90" or smaller frame
  • Usable as a wall unit (exterior or interior), bookshelf, window, or door unit
  • 3/8" plywood face, painted on outside
  • Detachable with exposed fasteners that can be accessed for deconstruction
  • Caulked at right angle seams if necessary
  • Fully insulated air tight when joining adjacent panels
  • Allow for slanted sections under roof
  • Uses R19 fiberglass batts - ex [1]
  • Uses 2"x6" lumber, integrating with 2"x6" being used for all other structural components.
  • Layers 2 framed sections to achieve any width necessary, such as 15" for exterior wall.
  • Fittable with brick interior
  • Standard panel size of 4'x8', though 4'x7" in the present case due to lower ceiling height
  • Integrate with outer wood walls in that outer walls involve doubling + spacing of inner wall panels
  • Applicable in nature to inner and outer walls.
  • Integrated via flat face to window and door panels.
  • One side is finished and painted upon install. Insulation inside, and second side is open. Closing panel is pre-painted.
  • Straightness is enforced via plywood edge
  • Extensible in thickness via spacing and larger plywood
  • Stackable in height
  • Extensiblle in lenght via layering
  • Allow for ready addition of modules without having to redo surface finish - by having a flat edge surface, and creating a flat face.
