The "Real World" Wide Web Project
From Open Source Ecology
Basics
- Abbreviated as "RLWWW" or "The Real Life WWW"
- Mainly a Grassroots project, with central (albeit online) coordinated core
- Main Goal is Networking Charities, and non-governmental services in a local area
- Tries to be the "connector" between multinational groups + large projects, and local planning + organizing
- Could somehow tie croudfunding into this
- Especially after a few are made, as they could fundraise etc
Idea
Find a place to "work from" locally
Existing Places
- Not perfect as this will most likely be a multi user space (thus can't be used all of the time, or may have strict limits on use etc)
- Much cheaper and less hard to start
- Thus most likely used for the beginning of the group to the first year or so
- Most likely will use a library, school, ymca, or church (although churches can be less of a neutral space)
Make One
- Make a dropkit for "community centers"
- Provide:
- Free Place to Be
- Entertainment
- Food
- (minor (ie not full on classes like those at school, but life skills/hobbies) ) Education
- A small to full on makerspace as it grows
- Business Incubator + Remote Development Chapter
- Virtual + Small Real World Library (a small bookshelf, and a pile of simple e-readers)
- e-cafe (ie internet for people without home pc's)
- Community Group Hub (help plan and organize charities, unions, etc)
