WHY are you motivated to support/develop this work?

  • Do you endorse open source culture?

Absolutely.

  • Why are you interested in collaborating with us?

It has started to dawn on me, that although I love technology, having it does not preclude happiness or well-being. For the wonders of the present day, they are have done little in the way of alleviating suffering because of gross mismanagement of resources. The world is very complex system. Its problems can only be understood collectively. I see this project as a means to a society with a greater sense of ownership among its inhabitants.

  • How do you think that the GVCS can address pressing world issues?

It can address most of the world's greatest problems if managed well and infused with a sense of ethics. It could address world hunger. It could stop land grabs by giving the third world a cheaper means of development that the World Bank or IMF. It could address NAFTA and the WTO by bringing manufacturing back home provided. It could make a more democratic world by making individuals more self-reliant and thus less susceptible to economic manipulation.

  • What should happen so that you become more involved with the project?

I have to find a good place to fit.

  • What are you missing in the project?

Organization and a common framework for those starting villages. The tools alone are not enough for this project to be successful. There also needs to be a sense of responsibility for the land. There needs to be the realization that technology is not always the best tool to use for a job.

  • What are your suggestions for improvement of the project?

Get rid of the the roto-tiller and encourage people to use Cattle instead. Allan Savory of Holistic Management has been using Cattle for fertilization and tilling and has been consistently reversing desertification.I think this project needs to look at the organizational efforts of other groups and make good framework for the GVCS set's dissemination.

No

Yes

  • Would you like to see yourself working with us on a full-time basis?

I'd like to work on the project full-time eventually, however, I'd like to pay off my student loans first. After that I envision starting a business with one of the tools and further developing the remaining tools.

  • Are you interested in using the technologies that we are developing directly?

Yes, I'd like to start a business making brick ovens.

  • Are you interested in being part of the world's first, open source, resilient community? The GVCS is the preparatory step for the OSE Village Experiment - a 2 year, immersion experiment (2013-2014) for testing whether a real, thriving, modern-day prototype community of 200 people can be built on 200 acres using local resources and open access to information? We are looking for approximately 200 people to fill a diverse array of roles, according to the Social Contract that is being developed. This may be the boldest social experiment on earth - a pioneering community whose goal is to extend the index of possibilities regarding harmonious existence of humans, ecology, and technology - as a beacon of light to benefit of all people on Earth.

Not sure.
