WHY are you motivated to support/develop this work?

  • Do you endorse open source culture?

Definitely, I think that nowadays everything should be open source, the whole system of patents should be reconsidered. Humanity should work together in collaborativ and not in competitive systems.

  • Why are you interested in collaborating with us?

A friend I met showed me the TED talk, and I knew immediately, that this is exactly the way and the philosophy to desig hardware I want to. Before I didn't know what I'm searching for, but now I've found it. Because after finishing my studies in mecanical engeneering, it was expected that I should now use my knowledge primary to maximise profit of a company, not to develop machines that helps other people. Normal companys are nearly always under market pressures, therefor they aren't interested in the best solutions, only in the most profitable solutions. So if the ruling economic system is not (yet) changing into a system where unconditional growth and profit-maximisation is not longer nessesary for the survival of the company and therefore social justice and sustainability are incidental, we have to build our own open source economy which cares about all these issues.

  • How do you think that the GVCS can address pressing world issues?

  • What should happen so that you become more involved with the project?

I'd like to know where I can help with my skills (but I think after a break-in period, it shouldn't be a big problem anymore)

  • What is missing in the project?

  • What are your suggestions for improvement of the project?

WHAT are your skills?

  • List all of your skills in these areas: Communications - Organizational - Computer Support - Finances - Design - Natural Building - Electronics - Automation - Metallurgy - Engineering - Fabrication - Agriculture - Energy - Architecture - Video/Graphics/Art - PR/Marketing - Education - Construction - Industry - CNC - Chemistry - Product Design - Other

After a 4 years apprenticeship as a design engineer and 3 years of studying mecanical engeneering (concentration courses in integrated development and production and biomechanics) I've done amongst other things a lot of conceptual work, also a very lot of CAD work and last but not least simulations (FEM) and calculations.

  • How have you already contributed to the project?

Unfortunatley not yet.

HOW can you help?

  • How are you interested in contributing to the work of GVCS development?

CAD work, calculations, simulations, engineering, conceptual work

  • Can you volunteer to work with us, and if so, how many hours per week?

Yes, 20 or more hours per Week.

  • Are you interested in working with us for pay? If so, what services can you offer, and what is your hourly or per-project rate?

Yes would be great, cause I'm currently unemployed... I can offer CAD work, FEM-Analyses (not to complex, I'm a beginner), calculations etc.

Yes, I'm highly interested if there starts a similar project in europe.

  • Are you interested in purchasing equipment from us to help bootstrap development?

No

  • Are you interested in bidding for consulting/design/prototyping work?

No

Not yet, because I've currently to less money...

  • Would you like to see yourself working with us on a full-time basis?

Yes, after a my first experience in this project. But I donk't know if its possible since I'm living in Switzerland.

  • Are you interested in being part of the world's first, open source, resilient community? The GVCS is the preparatory step for the OSE Village Experiment – a 2 year, immersion experiment (2013-2014) for testing whether a real, thriving, modern-day prototype community of 200 people can be built on 200 acres using local resources and open access to information? We are looking for approximately 200 people to fill a diverse array of roles, according to the Social Contract that is being developed. This may be the boldest social experiment on earth - a pioneering community whose goal is to extend the index of possibilities regarding harmonious existence of humans, ecology, and technology.

Wow, great idee! I would like to be a part of this community, but I'm unsure if it's possible for me because of the financial aspects.
