Most people would label me as an entrepreneur but I don't really think that sums me up. I love pushing limits and trying to make new and exciting things happen so I always put 120% effort into everything I do.

Education/Certifications: AET, Passive House design, Permaculture design, Permaculture Teacher, Solar PV/Thermal Installer, Regenerative Business Mentorship Program.

Experience: - 4 years of solar PV/thermal system design/installations ranging from small residential to large commercial applications, Passive House, and thermal mass systems. - Instructor for solar thermal design - Founder of two non-profits; Passive House Alberta and The GO Technology Foundation - Co-Lead of EMCO Energy, a GO Tech initiative providing electricity and natural gas across Alberta to generate funds for developing disruptive technologies in Alberta - Actively involved in permaculture design for 7 years and participating in numerous design projects, presentations, and occasionally teaching. - Participated in the first Open Source Ecology CEB Press workshop working with innovators from around the world to develop and share disruptive technologies - City Repair/Communitecture workshops through Mark Lakeman focusing on redesigning our communities/cities/world around sustainability and enhancing the life of all living beings.

               - 20 years as a professional artist, tattooing for 15 years, and owned/operated a studio for 14 years.

A Recent Message I Sent To Marcin

Hey Marcin! I hope things are going well and you're creating more and more amazing things. I've come a long way since my visit to OSE and I definitely attribute some of that to my experience there. Since then I have started a sustainability/solar company, helped to start up two non-profits (Passive House Alberta and The GO Technology Foundation), created a utility company under GO to sell electricity and gas across Alberta which funds the organization to support local tech development and allowed us to do things like create a new micro inverter for solar panels, sponsor student capstone projects and provide them with jobs, and support the local economy. The most recent achievements have been getting certified to teach Passive House courses and next month I'll be certified as a designer making me the only registered Passive House instructor in all of Alberta. I've also teamed up with a friend of mine to create a carbon capture-solar thermal hybrid system that produces a detergent (carbonates) as the byproduct which can be made into things like hand soap or used in a variety of industrial processes. And last but not least, I have been brought on to a company called Green Metrics that has developed a machine learning platform that tackles energy monitoring, building performance(BIM), predictive analytics, energy poverty, risk management, renewable energy systems, and GHG emissions all through smart contracts on a block chain system to create an energy cloud that connects government, industry, and citizens. I'm now setting up a project on a few affordable housing and disability/care centres that will combine various biometric sensors and health data of the occupants into the Green Metrics platform so that we can correlate health improvements to building efficiency upgrades and energy savings which will make the case for why it's a better investment for the government to provide high quality/efficiency buildings for disadvantaged people since it significantly lowers energy and operational costs while improving the health of the occupants and reducing health care costs. I'm not sure how I pulled all of this off but it definitely was powered by inspiration from working with you and the other members of that first CEB Press workshop so thank you!!
