I grew up doing DIY projects with my dad, an agricultural economist who'd been inspired by tales of the Great Depression. I studied computer engineering, computer science, and economics, toward my dream of building robots to escape the planet that was being destroyed by others. Eventually I decided to stay and make it better. I've built in cob and straw bale, taught soldering to kids, helped set up a maker ed program in a science museum, and taught people how to use a CNC router. Aquaponics is my latest interest. I've drafted a paper that explores aquaponics as a means to promote food security and some other private and social goods.
