My name is Nurullah Bektas, and I grew up in Turkey. I am now living in Hungary. Since I was a kid before starting primary school, I have had a strong desire on learning and studying. In 2011, I enrolled in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH). During my undergraduate years, I worked part-time at the IZTECH library and graduated after completing all undergraduate courses in three years. I began working as a construction site engineer after graduating from IZTECH in September 2016 and was chosen to pursue my MSc degree at IZTECH's Department of Civil Engineering. During my postgraduate studies, I worked in two different project offices that specialized in the analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel structures, as well as construction drawings using CAD programs, which helped to enhance my theoretical knowledge. In 2020, I earned my MSc degree with a thesis on the seismic risk assessment of cylindrical liquid storage tanks. Currently, I am doing my research on the implementation and enhancement of rapid visual screening methods at Széchenyi István University in Gyor, Hungary as a Ph.D. student.
