Open Source Ecology is exactly how technology should be going. I have a joke to describe how I currently see the overall tech industry:

"The greatest minds of a generation swept aside their differences and joined forces together to strive toward a singular purpose: optimizing targeted advertising."

For me, the opportunity to help make civilization more resilient and equitable is a higher purpose.
