hey andrew, ive been trying out the bittorrent sync program. its closed source but its pretty effective and has no limits on data. no cloud backup but can have multiple cpu's storing. http://www.bittorrent.com/sync

Scripts

Thanks. The sketchup plugin sounds interesting. Took me ~30 mins the other day to lay a bunch of parts flat. How would a script interface with a program like sketchup? (I am familiar with only assembly language when it comes to programming so I might not understand jargon in the answer.) Aidan Williamson (talk) 01:16, 1 May 2014 (CEST)
i've never coded plugins for sketchup, so your on your own there unfortunately. If i had to do it i would use Houdini provided i was sure it could export the dxf format correctly. thats just because im familiar with it.
