WHY are you motivated to support/develop this work?

  • Do you endorse open source culture?

Yes.

  • Why are you interested in collaborating with us?

I believe that technologies such as those outlined in the GVCS can have an enormous impact on the lives of people around the world. Being able to use my skills as an engineer and teacher to help make those technologies more affordable and accessible to all people seems to me an extremely worthy pursuit.

  • How do you think that the GVCS can address pressing world issues?

Making industrial quality machinery more affordable and accessible can help communities become more self-reliant, which in turn can be very empowering for individuals in those communities.

  • What should happen so that you become more involved with the project?

I'm doing my best to find a place to become involved, but the documentation seems hazy at present, it's not clear where the help is needed.

  • What is missing in the project?

  • What are your suggestions for improvement of the project?

WHAT are your skills?

  • List all of your skills in these areas: Communications - Organizational - Computer Support - Finances - Design - Natural Building - Electronics - Automation - Metallurgy - Engineering - Fabrication - Agriculture - Energy - Architecture - Video/Graphics/Art - PR/Marketing - Education - Construction - Industry - CNC - Chemistry - Product Design - Other

Refer to my resumes.

  • How have you already contributed to the project?

Not yet, but I hope to get involved as soon as I can.

HOW can you help?

  • How are you interested in contributing to the work of GVCS development?

I am interested in helping in the research and development of the GVCS machines, including replication, testing and documentation of those already being developed. I have a fair amount of entrepreneurial experience, and am interested in setting up a sustainable, not-for-profit business dedicated to the research and development of the GVCS. I'm also interested in improving the documentation process to help facilitate contributions.

  • Can you volunteer to work with us, and if so, how many hours per week?

At present, I need to balance work/volunteer hours in education and in the technical field, but I intend to contribute at least 10 hours a week to the project.

  • Are you interested in working with us for pay? If so, what services can you offer, and what is your hourly or per-project rate?

Yes. It depends on what is needed.

Yes.

  • Are you interested in purchasing equipment from us to help bootstrap development?

Not at this time.

  • Are you interested in bidding for consulting/design/prototyping work?

Not at this time.

No. I'm wary of associating commitment to something with contributing money, and I would like to become more personally familiar with the project before donating money. Also, the openfarmtech.com website is completely inscrutable.

  • Would you like to see yourself working with us on a full-time basis?

Yes. From what I've seen so far, this project is in line with how I want to spend my time and earn my livelihood.

  • Are you interested in being part of the world's first, open source, resilient community? The GVCS is the preparatory step for the OSE Village Experiment – a 2 year, immersion experiment (2013-2014) for testing whether a real, thriving, modern-day prototype community of 200 people can be built on 200 acres using local resources and open access to information? We are looking for approximately 200 people to fill a diverse array of roles, according to the Social Contract that is being developed. This may be the boldest social experiment on earth - a pioneering community whose goal is to extend the index of possibilities regarding harmonious existence of humans, ecology, and technology.

Perhaps. It certainly will be an interesting experiment, and I might be interested in participating. We'll see how things unfold as the GVCS develops.
